When you feel like you’re ready for your dog to accompany you to different places, every responsible dog owner should have a bag packed specifically for your dog’s needs. What you pack will be based on how long you’ll be gone, and how far your dog might have to travel! Especially in Tampa, Florida temperatures can get high during the middle of the day. Always be prepared!Buckle collar/Non-retractable LeashWhen going outside, safety is our number one priority. With the appropriately sized buckle collar, any owner can ensure that their dog will stay secure at their side. We discourage the use of retractable leashes in public, because of how hard it is to regain control of your dog. A sturdy 6-8 foot leash can allow your dog freedom to explore safely, while also being able to quickly gain control in the presence of distractions.Water Bottle/BowlMake sure to pack plenty of water for your furry friend to drink throughout your excursion. Along with a bottle of fresh water, have a bowl or wide rimmed cup for your dog to reach their snout into for drinking. We recommend the dog bowl water bottle, find this link in our amazon store!Treats/KibbleWe also want to reward our dog for good behavior, especially in public! By packing some bite sized treats or pieces of their kibble, these can be great incentives when your dog does something constructive!Sunscreen! We always try to lather ourselves in sunscreen when we go outside, so why do we forget about our dogs? Consider buying a dog-safe sunscreen to use on thinner parts of your dog’s skin, like their nose, ears, tail, feet, and belly. Check out our amazon store for our recommendation.Always stay safe and remember the five-second rule: Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you cannot hold it there for five seconds, it's too hot to walk your dog on the pavement.
